How many German Opponauts/Jalopniks are actually here?

I'm living in Sachsenhausen south of Frankfurt, and would love to find out how many others share our interest of things motorized, fast, and mechanically beautiful.

Sprechen auf.

I might be moving there for work at the 'Ring, figuring things out now. I took 3 years of German in school but never got to keep up on it, so it's basically lost at this point. I'd love to get it back by full immersion :)

What type of work are you trying to do at the Nürburgring?

Wie gehts?

Wasn't born there, but by heritage I'm all German. My family lived there for a year when I was very little, and my first word was German: a cognate, "ball". We got to go back about ten years ago to visit relatives near Bielefeld, and to travel around the country.

Can't wait to take my kids some day.

Bought my first German car two years ago (got a good one).

Wow, really? Actually for Rotek or another team? I'm working out all the logistics of making it happen now, lots has to happen Stateside & there for it to work.

Not exactly but I would like to spend some time working over there sometime soon. I've been to the 'Ring twice. Haven't done much research regarding a career over there though. I was thinking more along the lines of the industry pool's facilities in the area. Maybe interning at one or something, just haven't figured out the logistics of something like that.

I've only been once, to work the N24 this year. I'll have a ton of answers for your logistical questions, whether I make the move or not.

Alles gut, danke. Vielen Dank für die Beantwortung

Bielefeld is not to far north from me...maybe 175km or so. If I remember right there are some very pretty small "mountains" around that area.

Glad about your good German car. Every once in a while, a good one is made. :-)

This is the kind of post I like to read! I'm happy to hear of your possible work.

In case you didn't know, I have many contacts in both GT and NASCAR on both sides of the pond. Perhaps you could send a message and we could communicate further.

Too little sleep, strange work hours, lack of focus.

Germany is the best place to live in the world. Despite the social problems, this is a country where fortunes can be made for smart people and the quality if living is always good.

Move here, you wont regret it.

The only real issue I'll probably run into is my field of work, Im 4 years into a 6 year doctor of pharmacy program and transferring licenses and such in the medical field is always a fiasco.

You will be able to find work hete without any trouble at all in that field. There is a "fast pace"immigration processl for such professions.
